We are hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to work out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC). This individual will work on a team that is implementing the INL NQA-1 Certified Quality Assurance Program at MFC, which offers a unique experience to be involved in fabriateing and post irradiation testing of cutting edge nuclear experiments. They will work a 4x10 schedule located approximately one hour from Idaho Falls.

Responsibilities Include:

* Provide Quality Assurance Engineering services.

* Develop and implement needed Quality Assurance program requirements.

* Review and approve technical work documents for repair and maintenance of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.

* Ensure that work performed implements INL Quality Assurance program requirements and meets high standards for effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency.

* Provide Quality Assurance program support to Engineers in new structure, system and component (SSC) design, and development. Provide oversight to verify applicable code of construction and consensus standards are implemented during design, fabrication, and maintenance of SSCs.

* Support multiple tasks and/or projects of increasing scope and risk with increasing competency and limited supervision.

* Conduct assessment and surveillance to identify weakness and potential improvements in the conduct of technical work supporting nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.

* Demonstrate good judgement in ensuring Quality Assurance program weakness and areas for process improvement solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical and consistent with organizational objectives.

* Interact with senior personnel on significant matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.

PR0200: Bachelors Degree of science or related technical field and 2 years relevant experience, or MS and 1 year related experience in nuclear program quality work.

PR0300: Bachelors Degree of science or related technical field and 5 years relevant experience, or MS and 3 years related experience in nuclear program quality work.

Must have experience implementing various nuclear and non-nuclear industry codes and consensus standards such as ANSI B31.1 and B31.3, ASME Section III, V, VIII & XI, AWS D 1.1, and AWS D 1.6.

Must have experience writing inspection plans for Nondestructive examinations.
*

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" security clearance.

Ability to take equipment specifications and translate into a materials parts list facilitating procurement and configuration management

Knowledge & experience with creating Nondestructive examination test plans

Knowledge various material and piping code standards

Must be able to acquire a complete understanding and knowledge of quality management concepts and practices, be thoroughly familiar with quality assurance codes, standards, and regulations as they apply to various types of facility operations. Must have an introductory level working knowledge of the technical and practical side to quality engineering. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Previous Welding, Visual, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Radiographic, and/or Ultrasonic NDE inspection planning and experience is desired.
