OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT
We are hiring a full time, permanent Heavy Assembler to work 2nd shift M-F from 3pm-11pm at our Delavan plant. Please note, Training will be conducted during 1st shift, 7am-3pm and typically lasts about 5 months. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Heavy Assembler will prepare pump shaft assemblies for the sub-assembly operation. You will:
* Prepare gear case to match body thickness, as well as rotor and cover clearance.
* Cut off shafts to get correct rotor clearance in all critical areas of pump body.
* Install correct seals, bushings and O-rings and ensure body is in correct position and location.
* Test all pumps and record test information at test stand.
* Attach nametag, serial number and signed audit tag to pump.
* Place assembled pump on base for shipment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
The Heavy Assembler will have a mechanical aptitude including the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments. You must have basic computer and shop math skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
* High School Diploma or General Ed Degree (GED)
* 2 years in manufacturing or industrial
Preferred:
* Some experience with manual lathe
* 5s and Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement
