Overview:

The Registered Polysomnographic Technian works under the general supervision of the Sleep Center Coordinator, and performs polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient education. Performs the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide supervision of other staff. Sleep Center co-workers work under the medical direction of the Sleep Center Medical Director.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma / GED

Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician AND Certified by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.

Experience: Less than one year.

Certifications: RPSGT registered Poloysomnographic Tech; BLS Basic Life Support Within 3 Months Of Hire.

Other: Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
