POSITION DESCRIPTION
As an integral member of the Commercial Operations Departments, the Nutrition Services Technician works as part of a team with other staff, supervisors and managers to ensure optimal customer service is provided. The principal responsibilities of the technician include: preparation of food; serving food; cleaning/maintaining sanitary conditions in the kitchen, including dishwashing; assisting colleagues in the food preparations and transportation of food; performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification as required. Under general supervision, prepares and/or delivers general and special diet meals for residents, following prescribed policies and procedures. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
* Must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
* Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
* Experience with large scale food preparation and knife handling skills required.
* The ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with patients and other hospital personnel.
