SUMMARY

Work with a dedicated team of Doctor's, Registered Nurses, Board Certified Applied Behavioral Analysts, Speech and Occupational Therapists, Educators, Social Workers and Behavioral Technicians. Unit is one of 12 of its kind in the country. Our Developmental Disorders Program is the only hospital program in Maine where children with a developmental disorder, such as autism or intellectual disability, can receive intensive treatment for aggres­sion, self-injury, and impairment in functioning and mental health challenges. With capacity for 12 children, this program produces the highest quality treatment out­comes through a combination of expert programming, specially trained caregivers and the individual potential of each patient. It is a cutting edge research center for autism and also houses the first playground in Maine created specifically for children with developmental disorders.

A $2/hour unit differential on top of the base pay and hospital differentials!

Position Summary

* The Registered Nurse provides patient care utilizing the nursing process in inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. * License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required. * Experience: 1+ year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred. * Knowledge of counseling theory, physical and psychological effects of mental illness and substance abuse preferred * Knowledge of bio-psychosocial assessments required
