* Assists the EHS Manager in planning and managing the environmental, health & safety (EHS) programs.

* Assists in recognizing, evaluating, recommending and implementing policies, procedures and actions to assure awareness of and compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and requirements of the organization.

* Conducts analysis of current and future facilities projects for impacts to safety, health & environmental permits, licenses and programs.

* Verifies activities are implemented, and reviews present documents (procedures, permits, licenses, etc) to manage any updates/changes as needed.

* Provides necessary reports to EHS Manager.

* Performs routine ergonomic assessments in both office and manufacturing areas, and makes recommendations.

* Performs EHS audits of manufacturing areas, support areas and offices.

* Assists in developing and providing EHS training to employees. Also, conducts training in new employee orientation, emergency response, hazard communication, noise, hazardous materials training, industrial hygiene, radiation, life safety and other applicable topics.

* Assists in development, training and on-going requirements of Emergency Response Team (ERT), Ergonomic Committee, EHS Oversite Team and EHS Committee.

* Maintains on-going coordination with Facilities, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Materials and others to ensure compliance with EHS requirements

* Performs and documents monthly inspections of emergency response equipment.

* Assists in weekly inspections of hazardous waste areas, including disposing of hazardous waste.

* Conducts daily, weekly, monthly checks of different areas within facility

* Assists with ordering and maintaining inventory of medical, safety and ERT equipment, as required.

* Occasional requirement to work overtime

* Available 24/7 for emergencies that may arise at Cobham.

* Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university is preferred.

* 2-4 years of related experience and/or training is required.

* Knowledge of general environmental, health and safety is required, along with understanding of applicable federal, state and local regulations.

* Experience in electronic manufacturing facility is preferred.

* Goal oriented with the ability to balance tasks and team/individual needs to achieve desired outcomes.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Maintaining confidentiality is a must.

* Demonstrated the ability to manage multiple projects of varied priority

* Interest in working to earn Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is highly desired

* Ability to obtain security clearance

* Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office(tm) products - Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, Project.
