Medical Assistant ~ Oklahoma Heart Institute

Oklahoma Heart Institute is currently looking for a member to join our team! The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Medical Assistant Supervisor and will be responsible for transporting, rooming and preparing patients for physician, advanced practice provider, and nurse clinic visits. The Medical Assistant will serve as the first clinical contact for incoming clinic patients and must represent OHI in regards to Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy review, inquire of past medical and family history, and document this information in the electronic medical record (EPIC).

Participate in the completion of provider orders by accurately performing venipuncture and EKGs, appropriately applying ambulatory cardiac monitoring, correctly selecting and documenting medication samples, and patient education as directed by nurse or provider.
*

Complete refill authorization requests daily.
*

Maintain and stock exam rooms with supplies.
*

Clean and disinfect patient rooms.

QUALIFICATIONS

* High School Diploma or GED

* Valid Drivers License

* 1 - 3 years medical office experience

SKILLS

Excellent written/verbal/telephone communication skills are essential, along with basic computer knowledge.
