JFK North Campus is a 245-bed acute care facility that has been serving the community since 1975. JFK North is accredited by the Joint Commission. We are the largest provider of Behavioral Health Services in Palm Beach County offering the full continuum of prevention, treatment and support to address mental health and wellness for Children, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients. Our 88-bed Pavilion adjacent to the campus is the largest Baker Act Receiving facility in the county that accepts children while our outpatient services include a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and both adult and adolescent intensive outpatient programs (IOP and AIOP). Our additional services include: a 24-hour emergency department, critical care, comprehensive diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehabilitation, orthopedic care, wound management and a pain management center.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Directory of the Medical Surgical Department directs and manages the operations and activities of the Medical Surgical Department and Contract Services provided in the Department. He/She is responsible for the overall management of the department's daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives. He/She is responsible for the staff performance and accomplishment of department responsibilities in accordance with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company and regulatory requirements.

The Nurse Director is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to and acting as a liaison with patients with their representatives, physicians, and employees. He/She is responsible for the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

QUALIFICATIONS

* FL RN Licensure, or

* Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)

* Bachelor's required, Master's in Nursing or related field preferred

* BLS, ACLS certifications

* Two (2) years related management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Director level experience strongly preferred

5+ years' experience in an acute care facility including overseeing Med/Surg patients, Orthopedic experience a plus
