Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Fresh Pack Accounting intern will focus on documentation, standardization and improvements of various Internal Farming Accounting processes and reports. The intern will work in conjunction with the Fresh Pack Accounting team and aid with various department functions and tasks.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Document and standardization of subsidiary accounts for RPC-Salinas, RPC-Yuma, RPC-Huron and Ocean View Produce (OVP).
- Create a report of all the Business Unites & Subledger for the RPC and OVP groups, including a short description.
- Standardization and improvement of Growing cost reports for the RPC and OVP groups, including documenting the new process to create the improved reports.
- Standardization and improvement of expense tracker for the Admins in the RPC groups, OVP, STC, TP and R&D.
- Assist Accounting/Finance Department staff and managers with various duties to include but not limited to:
- Aid with development of reporting packages/models
- Support account reconciliations
- Aid with reviewing and approving invoices
- Consolidation of data
- Financial reporting special projects
- Working with large datasets and spreadsheets
- Develop new templates and procedures for invoices, purchase orders and reporting processes
- Assist with process documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of basic General Ledger Accounting
- High level of attention to detail

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
- Current 2020 Fall junior or senior working towards a bachelor's degree in or concentration of accounting or finance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to sit for long periods of time.

WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT
- Approximate 15 - 20 hour workweek, no overtime expected. Hours flexible.
- Part-time paid internship. No housing assistance provided.
- Fall internship starts in January 2021 and ends in May or June 2021, depending on student's school schedule.
