Department's Website:https://electrical-engineering.uark.eduSummary of Job Duties:The Post Doctoral Fellow will perform research into advanced power electronics circuits design and/or power electronic packaging. This position will lead a team of graduate researchers, write proposals, co-author publications, develop hardware prototypes for test and evaluation, perform electrical and mechanical tests on prototypes, and contribute to system design prototyping as part of a larger power electronics team on applications including motor drives, solar inverters, and microgrid controllers.Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

Ph.D. in electrical engineering
-
Hands on experience in design, development and control of power electronic converters
-
Experience in PCB design, gate driver design and thermal management solutions
-
Demonstrated knowledge power electronic circuit theory such as dc/dc converters, inverters, and multi-level converters
-
Demonstrated knowledge of basic PWM control methods
-
Demonstrated knowledge and some experience with thermal management techniques in power electronic modules and assemblies

Preferred Qualifications:
-
Extensive experience with medium-power or medium-voltage power converters
-
Proficiency in the programing of DSP or CPLD or FPGA
-
Experience with wide bandgap, e.g., SiC or GaN, devices/modules for power electronic system applications
-
Experience in EMI filters design
-
Experience in printed circuit board layout
-
Experience in the design of medium- or high-frequency transformers
