The Precision Medicine Associate Director (PMA) West will play a critical role setting the foundation for commercial success as we plan to deliver our first of multiple product launches and indication expansions for patients with solid tumors and a rare hematologic disorder. He/she will be responsible for driving adoption and utilization of quality diagnostic testing in key accounts to identify patients who may be candidates for Blueprint Medicines' portfolio of precision therapies in oncology and rare diseases (focus: SM and RET-altered cancers). This individual will report to the Head, Precision Medicine Account Liaisons and be a key member of an efficient, effective and highly collaborative field team regionally aligned with field sales.

Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a patient focused mindset while driving to enable key accounts to perform and utilize quality diagnostic testing
- Applies strong technical acumen to effectively educate on diagnostic testing and disease state to oncologists, pathologists and the broader care team in key accounts in academic and community practice settings
- Deliver educational materials and programs, partnering with marketing, sales and medical affairs appropriately
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, involving cross-functional stakeholders as needed to manage key relationships of national and/or broader portfolio relevance
- Collaborate closely with field-based colleagues (sales, national account executives, and MSLs), as well as patient services providers. Build relationships and maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders
- Serve as a diagnostics subject matter expert for the region
- Develop business plans aimed at 1) activating key accounts to start testing and 2) supporting ongoing testing efforts. Proactively identify new opportunities and apply customer insights to develop, execute and refine approaches. Use analytical tools to understand business trends
- Meet or exceed target testing KPIs
- Represent Blueprint Medicines at congresses and medical meetings, including pathology meetings
- Form relationships with diagnostic laboratories and identify partnership opportunities
- Able to travel within the US on a regular basis which may include overnight and weekend travel
- Comply with regulatory guidelines, public policies/guidelines, and corporate policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- BA/BS degree required. MBA, advanced degree in life sciences, medical or pharmacy degree preferred
- 5+ years' experience in biotech, pharma or diagnostic laboratory setting
- Demonstrated success across multiple drug launches in applicable specialty markets
- Strong technical background in pathology, molecular biology and/or diagnostics applicable to oncology or rare diseases required
- Deep understanding of diagnostics market considerations including regulatory, reimbursement and policy, as well as familiarity with patient, provider and payer perspectives on diagnostic testing
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to identify and action on creative solutions
- Ability to establish credibility, connect the dots and align multiple stakeholders to pioneer the adoption of new products, methods and technologies
- A team player able to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, influence without authority, gain consensus and act independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Flexibility and the ability to plan and nimbly adapt to changing conditions
- Motivated by patient focus, urgency and personal commitment to high performance, results and compliance
