Forget “special projects” for newbies, our Device Interaction Business Analyst Interns work side-by-side with a mentor, making hands-on contributions to the world’s top-selling GPS navigation and wireless communication products. Our interns learn to work with developers, UX designers, and product owners to user stories and requirements for Garmin Connect projects. They also assist with testing of new features for Garmin. We're seeking a Business Analyst Intern at our world headquarters, in Olathe, KS for our Device Interaction (DI) team.  At Garmin, DI teams are comprised of associates who share the same passion about what they do every day. We offer a relaxed team environment (no dress code!) where advancement is found from sharing knowledge, not hiding it! While we promise you a lot of responsibility, you also will have the opportunity to have learn from others…oh, and we promise you there will be some fun mixed in there, too!

As Device Interaction Business Analyst Intern, you’ll learn how to ask the right questions to lead to creating the best user stories, user personas, and requirements for Garmin Connect.  You will also learn how to create documentation using Confluence, learn about creating Epics and Stories within Jira, and learn how to lead discovery sessions with stakeholders.

You’ll also partner with a leader or mentor in collaboration with developers, UX team, and product owners to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Business or a field relevant to perform the essential functions of this job description 

  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with ability to apply learned knowledge

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrates ability to solve basic business problems independently

  • Must possess relevant experience and/or training 


 
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)

  • Previous experience working in a team environment
