Hardware Maintenance Technician at 3D Systems in Rock Hill, South Carolina

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The 3D Printer Maintenance Technician ensures optimum operational performance for hardware fleet related to 3D printing equipment used for materials and print process development for the Rock Hill and other sites SLA and SLS printer hardware. They deliver technical service including installation, repair and preventative maintenance.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Manage a fleet of SLA and SLS printers for operation, upgrades, and testing
• Maintain printer service and upgrades
• Design and fabrication of equipment to assist in print process
• Manage configuration and service logs communication for each system
• Use electronic testing equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair 3D printers and related equipment
• Create and perform a perform preventive maintenance plan for all systems
• Setup and operate 3D printers as needed
• Use of Oscilloscope, Multi-meters, and common hand tools
• Use of Calipers, Gauge blocks, and other precision measurement tools
• Consistent attention to production quality
• Provide on-going end user training on equipment
• Basic device cleaning and replacement of operator accessible parts and consumables per equipment specifications.
• Communicate with corporate technical support team to troubleshoot and correct issues
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
• Order printer parts and supplies as needed
• Keep work area neat and orderly

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associates degree or technical degree in electronics or computer repair a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Service and repair experience of at least 3 years with 3D Systems SLA equipment
• Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• 3D software experience desired
• Proficient in troubleshooting, configuration, installation and repair of electronic systems and computers, as well as a solid mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in a team environment with common goals
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
