Position Description

Direct and manage the marine terminal workforce and facilities for the safe and efficient receipt, storage and transfer of bulk, break bulk, fertilizers, salt, etc. at the Elizabeth River Terminal facility. Supervises daily activities of all facility financial, operational personnel.

Position Requirements

- Actively participate in the process to develop marine terminal objectives.
- Review processes to decrease time discharging vessels and more efficiently warehouse materials operations.
- Monitor maintenance, purchasing, labor, sales, and EHS reporting.
- Advise senior management of progress toward objectives and develop strategies for necessary adjustments.
- Ensure marine terminal production objectives are achieved and consistent with EHS and quality standards/requirements and operating costs are consistent with budgetary constraints. Oversee and guide the logistics such as transportation and shipping
- Direct operational aspects of EHS, human resources
- Administer Union Contract, grievances and labor related activities
- Mentor, direct and train current supervisory staff
- Develop, instruct, and discipline the terminal workforce in compliance with KM standards.
- Serve as facility representative related to commercial, expansion, and development efforts.
- Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient and cost effective operation.
- Effectively interface with customer representatives, regulators, KM staff and others as required.
- Prepare weekly forecasts for budgetary analysis
- Manage expansion projects and control the implementation of startups
- Four year college degree preferred but will consider relevant experience in place of degree
- Valid Drivers License and TWIC are required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain MTSA Security clearance is required and FSO of the terminal.
- Experience managing within an operating budget.
