Summary:

Air Compliance Engineer with project management experience. The selected individual is expected to provide air quality permitting and modeling services for commercial and industrial clients. Help navigate complex air quality regulations for permitting and on-going compliance and reporting. The selected individual is expected to define and perform project tasks in a cost-effective and time efficient manner as well as provide project oversight over air compliance projects.

Responsibilities:


  • Air Emissions Compliance Reporting for commercial and industrial clients;
  • Conduct air dispersion modeling using AERMOD and CALPUFF to determine environmental emissions impact for assigned industrial client projects;
  • Conduct air emissions assessments on wide variety of industrial processes / facility types for regulatory applicability, compliance status, MACT/NESHAP, and permitting.
  • Calculate air emissions, determine required air pollution control technologies, and document process information to ensure client operations and work practices are in document process information to ensure client operations and work practices are in accordance with all applicable State and federal environmental regulations.
  • Prepare State and federal air quality construction and operating permit applications, source inventories, and emission fee calculations for industrial clients.
  • Prepare greenhouse gas, monthly or more frequent deviation notices, semi-annual and annual compliance reports.
  • Interact with various state agencies on behalf of clients where required.
  • Conduct site visits to manufacturing locations within North America;
  • Maintain close client contact to ensure all project deliverable's meet or exceed client needs and expectations;
  • Execute superior project management - scope, schedules, budgets and subcontractor oversight;
  • Manage multiple project schedules and competing deadlines.
  • Proficient technical writing and presentations on the subject of regulatory concepts, trends, and emerging issues.
  • Prepare proposals, attend conferences and industry events and perform other business development activities to help grow our client base.
  • Co-author or publish papers in area of expertise.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of experience managing complex engineering/air quality projects. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Strong background in environmental/air quality regulatory compliance highly desired.
  • Operational knowledge of air quality models: AEROMOD, CALPUFF, others.
  • Professional Engineer licensed (preferred).
  • Willingness and capabilities to mentor and lead junior staff.
  • Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Excel. Knowledge of data management and GIS software a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to think and act critically and strategically.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-disciplined/motivated individual who also works well in a team environment.
  • Unwavering personal and professional integrity.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
