Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to our largest manufacturing facility since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90's and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Kitten Chow®, Friskies® and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.

As an Assistant Quality Assurance Manager, you'll be immersed in a highly technical and high-quality production environment to play a key role in achieving our standards of continuous excellence. The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining safety programs, validating regulations, and providing support for various projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

• Provide support to QA Team Leader in the supervision of Q. A. Lab staff and assist with department performance reviews, coaching and disciplinary actions. Ensure correct functioning of the laboratories including safety, equipment, and training of staff.
• Support, maintain, audit, and continuously improve Pet Treats and Dry Pet quality programs. This includes implementation of corporate quality initiatives, semi-annual internal quality audits, lab analyst and operator training, consumer analysis and action, specification compliance, and audit corrective action items.
• Promote and support employee safety through leadership by example, participation in factory Behavior Based Safety program, and all associated activities.
• Is responsible for assuring compliancy to Biosafety and Biosecurity instructions impacting company laboratories per guidance from the BSO or corporate Biosafety Officer.
• Investigate and facilitate disposition of blocked materials and finished goods. Work with QA, Materials, Production, Accounting, and Warehouse Departments to resolve ingredient and finished product quality issues in a timely, cost-effective manner and drive continuous improvement.
• Support, maintain, audit, and continuously improve Nestle Quality Management System (QMS) as the Descriptions as appropriate during each operating year.
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2+ years' of experience in a Quality Assurance or Production role within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment
• Must be open to relocation to one or more of our 21 production facilities across the U.S.
