Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Act as the first point of contact for baseline HR related matters for assigned managers and team members.



  • Assist Human Resources Business Partners in providing basic guidance to managers and team members in response to HR related inquiries as well as the interpretation of Human Resources policies and procedures.



  • Assist in conducting (and resolving) simple to complex workplace investigations regarding complaints and/or concerns brought forth by team members and provide input on corrective action if/when appropriate.



  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation and the completion and maintenance of all employee I-9 and E-Verify employment authorization documents.



  • Prepare employment letters and offer packets for internal employment status changes, inclusive of wage increases, promotions, demotions, transfers, and terminations.



  • Administer Construction Wage Program (CWP) to ensure compliance and equity within the construction field team members.



  • Assist in the facilitation of performance management routines, inclusive of 90-day performance review discussions, stay interviews, the annual performance review process, and progressive disciplinary action process.



  • Participate and support HR initiatives and projects, as well as deliver training and presentations as assigned.



  • Maintain and/or assist in the creation of position based job descriptions and maintain accuracy of inventory stored in the department’s job description site.



  • Provide information as requested in response to HR audits and Unemployment Compensation claims.



  • Foster effective and consistent working relationships with coworkers, managers and the general team member population.



  • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the overall team member experience and recommend strategies to motivate and support team member engagement.



  • Coordinate HR communication such as: announcements, HR newsletter, HR sponsored events, benefits, compensation, and engagement and policies.



  • Assist in the coordination and facilitation of HR team meetings, celebrations, events and outings.



  • Administer the seniority recognition program in partnership with third party vendor and oversee the distribution of rewards to team members.



  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to fulfill team member related good standing requests regarding internal candidates and rehire eligibility for former team members.



  • Maintain intern and project-based employee tracker, inclusive of securing the necessary approvals as deemed appropriate, to update end dates in a timely manner.



  • Generate reports on general HR related activities and assess exit interview results.



  • Stay abreast with the latest HR trends and best practices.



  • Maintain confidentiality to the highest degree.



  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree required; Concentration in Human Resources strongly preferred.  



  • 2+ years’ experience working in a Human Resources Lead and/or Generalist function.



  • Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office and related HR software, UltiPro experience a plus.



  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.



  • Excellent record keeping skills.



  • Knowledge of HR functions, best practices, and current regulations.



  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines. Possesses good organizational and conflict management skills.



  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.

Language Skills:

  • Intermediate presentation skills able to convey information in one-on-one and group situations to employees.



  • Ability to read, write and communicate in Spanish a plus.

  • Ability to utilize mathematical formulas: to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to calculate decimals and percentages.



  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area and volume.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:



  • PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP a plus.
