Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to keep the accounts receivable balances to a specific and acceptable average day’s outstanding by contacting customers and expeditiously handling issues presented and to protect the commissions earned by the sales force as well as the assets of the company.

Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct account research and analysis.


• Perform account reconciliations.


• Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues.


• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and short-pays.


• Monitor customer account for details re: non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities.


• Request status of past-due invoices.


• Fax/email invoices and statements.


• Prepare and update Excel spreadsheets/reports.


• Provide proof of deliveries.


• Notify Sales personnel when resolving a problem requires their assistance.


• Record all information/notes in customer account file.


• Receive incoming calls from customer seeking credit information.


• Alert Supervisor/Manager of problems requiring assistance.


• Other duties and projects as assigned by management.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 1-2 years experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Customer Service.


• Good verbal and written communication skills.


• Problem Analysis and Problem Solving Skills. 


• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.


• Some accounting experience helpful.


• High School diploma or equivalent required.
