Job Description:

A company in Greenfield, IN is looking for a Welder for a 1st shift opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Hy-Flex is looking for a Welding Team Leader Assistant. Welding Team Leader Assistant will be a hands on person who will work directly with the Team leader. Responsible to lead the department or fill in as needed. The expectation is that they would be able to perform all levels of weld activity in the department. This position will share the Team Leader responsibility to train and improve personnel in the department. This would include helping individual welders to learn to setup and inspect their jobs, spot check quality, create fixtures or welding aides as needed, weld advanced fabrications, weld jobs as needed. Pay varies on experience. MIG and TIG welders primarily performed. Familiar with safety, operation, and daily maintenance of the equipment. Able to lift 50 lbs and willing to work overtime as needed. Able to use inspection equipment and perform part inspection during production. Able to read Blue print and know Weld Symbols is a PLUS.


• Pass Hy-Flex weld test


• Be able to demonstrate a controlled weld bead that is acceptable with minimal rework


• Read tape measure proficiently, has a weld bead scale, 12' qualified tape measure, weld symbols handbook, scribe, metal marking pencil, grease pen, and sharpie on their person at all times


• Learning to read prints and weld symbols


• Actively practicing for weld certification test on their own time.


• Always maintain a clean and safe work area


• Be able to operate MIG welder


• Passed weld certification test


• Understands jobs, tags, storage, and electronic logging system


• Can read and interpret simple to moderately complex prints and basic weld symbols


• Understand how to setup their welder correctly for all weld jobs without supervision


• Can weld any job that is reviewed with them and some jobs without review


• Owns and Maintains their own full set of inspection and basic tools


• Can setup and use all machines in the department


• Mentors and helps train Level I & II operators


• Can setup and weld most jobs that have a print and recognize all common weld symbols


• Operate independently during the work day


• Optional - pass TIG welding test for pay increment


• Must be able to fabricate jobs complete from print


• Must be able to interpret prints, symbols, and consult with engineering

• 6+ years of Welding experience & some leadership demonstrated

• Blueprint Reading
