DESCRIPTION SHIFT: Nights (rotating weekends)

SCHEDULE: Part-time

CNA - MONITOR TECHNICIAN
FULL TIME - NIGHTS
WORK SCHEDULE IS 7 P.M. - 7 A.M. AND
WILL INCLUDE ROTATION OF HOLIDAYS AND WEEKEND COVERAGE

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region's healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region's only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital and the region's only Primary Stroke Center.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Telemetry Tech/CNA is responsible for continuous monitoring of telemetry rhythms and oxygen saturations as applicable.

* Continuously observes monitors to note changes in rhythms and oxygen saturation when applicable.

* Responds immediately and appropriately to alarms.

* Notifies specific unit Clinical Supervisor or charge nurse when a patient on their unit is off telemetry or needs batteries replaced.

* Notifies Clinical Supervisor and patient care RN of rhythm changes and a drop in oxygen saturations below baseline as applicable.

* Posts and interprets rhythm strip every shift and with changes.

* Is proficient in reading and interpreting physician orders as needed?

* Adheres to the Hospital's policies and demonstrates compliance with the Code of Conduct

* Adheres to the Hospital's Safety policies and demonstrates safety practices in patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Current Idaho CNA Certification; must be listed on the Idaho State Registry.

American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification (offered during New Hire Orientation)
*

This position requires successful completion of the Basic Dysrhythmia Course or successful challenge of the course (passes final test by 80%) within 6 months. * The position also requires successful completion of hospital and department orientation, and hospital mandatories according to unit policies.
