What You'll Do
The Cardiac CT Technologist at OHI will be dedicated to both inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular CT procedures in a new state-of-the-art Cardiac CT department. Primary expectations: Provides high-quality cardiovascular computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients of all ages. Maintains patient safety.
The successful candidate will be able to:
* Be accountable for operating the C.T. scanner, transportation of patients to and from the department, handling telephone scheduling of inpatients and outpatients.
* Be responsible for calling the physician with the report of the exam.
* Start an IV line to administer contrast fluid.
* Demonstrate knowledge of contrast media injections and reactions for operating the C.T. scanner.
* Participate in performance improvement initiatives. Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day to day operation of the department.
What You'll Bring
* Technical/Associate's radiography degree required
* Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology preferred.
* 1-3 years as an R.T. experience required.
* Advanced certification in CT is preferred.
* 1-year minimum as a CT Tech with Cardiac general CT and CTA experience preferred.
* Be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
* Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's competency plan.
