PURPOSE

The EHS/Facilities Manager oversees the Environmental Health and Safety and Facilities activities and is responsible for all aspects of EH&S and Facilities at the Carlsbad and San Jose sites. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure each site conforms to all Federal, State and Local Environmental requirements, including hazardous materials handling, SDS, permits and licenses, etc.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive waste management program, including precious metal recycling, solid waste management and stormwater.

- Ensure each site conforms to all Federal, State and Local Safety requirements, including emergency preparedness plan, ERT, Ergonomic Program, Fire Protection Plan, etc.

- Set goals and monitor performance of EH&S metrics, including injury rates, Workers Comp costs, regulatory compliance, etc.

- Act as liaison for all EH&S regulatory agency inspections and surveys, including, Cal-EPA, DOHS, OSHA, and State Fire Marshall

- Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.

- Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, and facilities expansion.

- Manage installation/move/removal of all production equipment in the cleanroom and Engineering labs and ensure proper permitting and installation protocols are followed.

- Confer with other supervisors & managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and maintenance sequences to meet uptime goals.

- Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services as needed to support the Facility and EH&S needs.

- Monitor facilities equipment and systems to ensure proper operation within guidelines/specifications and report performance on a regular basis to management and peers.

- Coordinate repair and routine maintenance on facilities and equipment including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air compressors, DI H2O, PCW, waste treatment, janitorial activity, and tasks relating to the interior and exterior conditions and appearance of the property.

- Maintain clean room supporting systems including HEPA filters and air handling equipment.

- Supervise and oversee the activities of contractors and external suppliers that provide in-house support to facilities to ensure safety protocols and company procedure are being observed.

- Carry out routine maintenance and inspection of fire protection system.

- Track and assign facilities work orders until closure.

- Maintain effective communications at all levels.

- 24/7 on call to support manufacturing operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee 1 EH&S/Facilities technician

- Responsible for interviewing, coaching, mentoring and performance management

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Facilities or related discipline. Technical training, licensing or certificates will be considered in lieu of a degree

- Minimum of 5 years of Semiconductor Facilities/EHS Operations experience preferred.

- Minimum of 2 years in a management role, leading and developing a team.

- Project Management Experience -Strong ability to communicate and lead projects across multiple departments and technical areas.

- Working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations

- Proficient in MS office

- Valid Driver's license required
