Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a candidate for a digital twin research scientist to support the Digital and Software Engineering Group to serve as principal investigator and/or visualization technical lead over medium sized projects or major tasks within large projects/programs.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Leading teams to accomplish scope within cost and schedule.
* Solving problems of diverse scope and complexity and only under general supervision with very little day-to-day instruction.
* Utilizing extensive use of mathematics, statistics, logic, and computer programming languages in the design, development, and testing of 2D and 3D visualization applications.
* Collaborating with other engineers to define system specifications, perform feasibility studies, prepare project time and cost estimates, design, analyze, test, modify, document, and maintain applications incorporating visualization engineering techniques.
* Focusing primarily on digital twin and digital engineering visualization using 2D and 3D technologies in a web browser.
* Supporting and leading visualization development of new projects, including the development of proposal and business plans and specifically leading digital twin visualization technical areas either as a technical lead on large projects or as a principal investigator on medium sized projects.
* Providing both technical and programmatic leadership, guidance and advise on multiple digital engineering programs.
* Working closely with the relationship manager, group lead, and department manager to capture new customers and write proposals.
* Being the lead contributor to peer-reviewed journal articles, presentations, reports, and other professional activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or related and 5 years experience, MS and 3 years experience or PhD and 2 years related experience.
* **Related experience must demonstrate proven ability to execute on computational projects through publications, portfolios, copyrights, and/or invited presentations.
