OVERVIEW

$1,000 RETENTION BONUS

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for loading and unloading cylinders on vehicles, shipping and receiving of cylinders, cylinder staging and limited customer service. To include moving cylinders to other designated destinations along with ensuring the accuracy and safety of the product Reports to Site or Operations Manager/Supervisor. Interacts with customers, sales, management and other operations personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Responsible for loading and unloading cylinders on assigned trucks or tractors or other designated areas throughout the location including (but not limited to) checking identification, labels, valves, styles, to see if cylinder needs filled or should remain empty, to see if cylinder needs painted or has any marks, following required procedures to insure safe storage of all cylinder products

* Responsible for making sure all loads are secure prior deliveries. This task includes (but not limited to) securing all cylinders or material by checking strapping, location of cylinder in vehicle, that the correct cylinders are loaded, checking that all cylinders have been checked and have proper tags. This task also requires that all safety policies and procedures be followed to insure the safety of any equipment, containers, or materials.

* Responsible for material handling of cylinders both manually, use of dollies, carts and forklifts.

* Ability to transport vehicles (including but not limited to) forklift, and cylinder carts requiring different dock locations when loading or unloading trucks or tractors.

* Responsible for housekeeping duties for both safety and appearance purposes

* Notifies supervisor of quality assurance problems

* Works safely and meets the requirements of all safety procedures and rules as prescribed by State, Federal, and the Company. This will in addition insure safety of equipment, containers, or materials.

* Adheres to all quality assurance policies and standards

* Performs other projects and duties as assigned

HOURS OF WORK: Typical hours for this position are going to match the requirements of the customer base Monday through Friday and possibly some Saturday hours if applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* High School diploma or GED equivalent or commensurate experience

* Valid State Driver License Class C

* Able to work flexible hours (within 2-3 hours of starting and quitting times).

* Ability to learn and comply with Matheson standards and DOT, OSHA, FDA NFPA and other government regulations dealing with, handling and delivery of compressed industrial and medical gases.

* Preferred 6 months to one year experience in the gas/welding industry as a warehouse worker or a driver.

* Must be able to push cart 200 + lb. cylinders and bend/lift 50+lb containers.

* Must be able to work overtime, when necessary.

* Must possess mechanical aptitude

* Must be able to read, write and perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity.

* Basic math and reading skills

* Interpersonal and written communication skills

* Able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions throughout the year
