Position Summary

The Coordinator enables the success of the Medicare Star Department, and has primary accountability for coordinating the day-to-day operations of a diverse, fast-paced internal team. This includes accountability for the creation and maintenance of project timelines, small corporate databases, agendas, presentations, graphs and reports, as well as complex calendaring and meeting management. This coordinator is responsible for communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders within Blue Shield of California, vendors and partner Provider Organizations. This position requires a diverse set of skills that includes adaptability, versatility with basic project management and facilitation skills to keep the project focused on its objectives and timely execution. Coordinators deliver results-oriented, data-driven solutions, crisp and professional communications, and are expected to be ambassadors of improvement throughout the company.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assists the Medicare Star Department with meeting department and BSC corporate goals.

-

Coordinates data requests with other departments for internal and external reporting.

-

Collects and organizes documentation for ongoing program needs and creates status/gap reports.

-

Contributes to process improvement across functions and within departments.

-

Oversee assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. May exercise independent judgment and initiative in resolving complex and non-recurring problems. Provides guidance to and acts as authoritative source for others within same skill set.

Work with cross-functional teams and upper management to ensure that key project deliverables are coordinated and deadlines are met.

Ability to successfully manage time-sensitive projects and deliverables.

-

Acts as a liaison between internal and external partners to assist in implementing provider and member initiatives and resolve issues.

Takes an active role in assisting the team in presentation and report development and other Quality Improvement activities.

Qualifications

Education:

-

College graduate

Experience:

-

2 years minimum of administrative experience

-

Proficiency in computer and software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)

-

Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment

-

Demonstrated sense of urgency, initiative, responsiveness, and a proactive approach to work

-

Strong work ethic, upbeat personality with a can-do attitude

Additional preferred qualifications:

-

One year of project management experience, three years preferred

-

Familiarity with as accreditation (e.g., HEDIS and CAHPS) and regulatory requirements recommended. Provider office familiarity preferred, call center or customer services experience a plus

Minimum of one year experience in health plan quality improvement
