Job Description:

Position Summary

Performs field data collection and evaluation in the area of pipeline direct examinations associated with In Line Inspections (ILI), Hydro Static Pressure Test, External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA), Dry Gas Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (DG-ICDA), Stress Corrosion Cracking Direct Assessment (SCCDA), Cased-Crossing External Corrosion Direct Assessment (CC-ECDA) and other Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for pipe/facility applications.
This position performs responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under general supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems using basic principles of functional area. Refers more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. There is some latitude for deviation associated with this level.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Evaluates direct examination data results to determine extent of defects/damage and provides consultation and recommendations for improvements/repairs.
* Performs defect analysis, remaining strength analysis, root cause analysis and appropriate repair/remediation procedures.
* Reviews documentation of data from examinations to ensure proper completion and routing.
* Troubleshoots equipment, software and inspection/examination issues from the field perspective.
* Utilizes Enable Midstream Partners Intranet applications efficiently.
* Demonstrates knowledge of Enable Midstream Partners policies and procedures.
* Conducts direct examination projects; responsible for execution that is safe, timely and within budget.
* Travel to field locations will be required
* Precision Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation
* Pipeline coating condition assessment
* Pipeline corrosion measurements
* Ultrasonic thickness measurements (UT)
* Magnetic particle inspection (MT)
* Liquid penetrant inspection (PT)
* pH measurements (soil & liquid)
* Soil resistivity measurements
* External corrosion inspections
* Internal corrosion inspections
* Pipe-to-soil potential measurements
* Test insulation devices
* Serial dilution testing
* Microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) analysis
* Pipe excavation product sampling (soil, liquid, and corrosion deposits)
* Pipeline anomaly measurements from ILI tool runs or DA indirect inspections
* Pipeline defect evaluation
* Intermediate pipe remaining strength calculations (ASME B31.G and RSTRENG)
* Repair of in-service pipeline by grinding
* Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) evaluation
* Pipeline locating
* Depth of cover measurements
* Direct Examination computer software and database applications

Minimum Education & Experience

* Requires high school diploma or equivalent knowledge of English, Mathematics, and Grammar.
* Requires 3 years' experience in pipeline examinations and NDT methods.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* NACE Cathodic Protection Tester (CP-1) or Corrosion Technician certification.
* Enable Midstream Partners Limited Level II Certification for UT, MT, & PT.
* Able to demonstrate knowledge of NACE, DOT, ASME, and ASNT codes and standards relating to pipeline corrosion and pipeline integrity.
* Able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of tools, instruments, and computer programs applicable for pipeline direct examination and corrosion technology.
* Able to use the personal computer and software proficiently, including those for electronic mail, spreadsheets, word processing and presentations.
* Able to keep and maintain detailed, accurate records.
* Able to function and work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Able to perform under limited supervision.
* Able to motivate self; operate as a self-starter with individual drive and initiative to start, develop and complete project and initiatives.
* Able to provide a valid state driver's license, present and maintain a good driving record and to operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
* Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for objects or people who may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.
* Demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, company's ethics code of conduct and other company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

* Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
* Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch for extended periods of time.
* Able to view a personal computer monitor or laptop screen for extended periods of time.
* Able to communicate orally or in writing in a clear manner.
* Able to operate a motor vehicle, including ability to enter and exit the vehicle unassisted.
* Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Working Conditions

* Able to enter and work in confined or cramped spaces.
* Able to work out of doors on a daily basis in all types of weather conditions and under emergency conditions.
* Able to work overtime (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends) as needed.
* Able to travel for field projects, attend training or other meetings and stay overnight as required.
