The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the day-to-day human resources functions of the facility in accordance to Independent, Assisted or Memory Care living facility operations, and as may be directed by the General Manager and/or Executive Directors

Responsibilities/Qualifications/Skillset

Responsibilities:
Implement day-to-day functions of the HR Department
- Participates in developing facility HR department goals, objectives and systems
- Administers facility compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program and makes recommendations as needed.
- Performs benefits administration to include change reporting and communication of benefit information to employees
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program (if applicable); maintains records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Assists in conducting recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel; Direct and assist new-employee orientation programs; assists to coordinate facility recruitment advertisements
- Assists in employee relations counseling, investigations, and exit interviews as directed.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings as directed.
- Maintains facility organizational charts and facility directory
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and services performed.
- Maintains all personnel files in accordance the company policy and state required regulations.
- Assists in the administration and management of facility's worker's compensation programs.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles all necessary reports from the data base
- Assists in administering facility employee retention programs and surveys.
- Maintains all required current labor law postings.
- Maintain payroll to include maintenance of employee records, processing timecards, paychecks, computation of federal and state payroll taxes, miscellaneous deductions, etc., as directed (as applicable
- Report suspected or known incidence of fraud relative to employment and payroll
- Ensure that departmental computer workstations left unattended are properly logged off or the password protected automatic screensaver activates within established facility policy guidelines
- Report known or suspected incidents of fraud, waste and or abuse to the General Manager.
- Participation in all compliance training programs.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
- Attend and participate in facility mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, etc.).
- Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
- Follow established ergonomics policies and procedures governing lifting techniques, repetitive tasks, and the use of safety equipment and supplies to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Report equipment and office supply needs to the General Manager
- Request repairs for office equipment as necessary.
- Assist in preparing budget and financial information as directed by the General Manager
- Assist with Emergency Properness and implementing emergency procedures
Qualifications:
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years' experience in human resources and payroll practices. Experience in health care human resources preferred, but not required.
- Must be knowledgeable of computers, data entry/retrieval, output, etc.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
