Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Manage new development or product support projects from end to end, including coordinating other staff efforts to accomplish project goals
- Create/ Update Bills of Material and routings, as needed, for product creation or maintenance, including a cost impacts
- Structure configurable products based on a product model concept and coordinate Product Configurator changes
- Develop and execute product validation test plans
- Initiate product change notices to correct problems
- Generate component specifications and assign new part numbers
- Create and coordinate engineering prototypes
- Engineering documentation control
- Coordinate brand labelling projects by providing solutions, costs and lead times
- Evaluate problems found in the field and production
- Establish a cooperative working relationship within engineering team and with Supply Chain, manufacturing engineering, and production hourly employees
- Manage day-to-day unplanned requests while maintaining time schedule on planned activities
- Improve existing product designs by leading cost improvement activities that result in more manufacturable designs that reduce labor and material costs.
Background & Skills
- Bachelor's degree with electrical engineering background (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Industrial)
- Proven project management skills
- Proven engineering documentation skills
- Mechanical engineering background or experience is additional benefit
- Software engineering background or experience is additional benefit
- Ability to create, read, and interpret schematics
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Experience with agency certifications, particularly UL508A
- Root Cause Problem Solving skills (RCPS)
- Experience with electro-mechanical components and Industrial Control Panel design
- Ability to communicate verbally and understand written instructions in English
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
