Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:General Duties for the Graduate Assistant include:

Assist with numerous projects vital to the Campus Life area and the Division of Student Affairs; participate as a member on several University/Divisional Committees; assist as needed with administrative tasks; identify projects to develop and strengthen specific student affairs areas of special interest; create communication with students that promotes student engagement; other duties as assigned.

Professional Development Initiatives:

Serve on the Division of Student Affairs Professional Development Committee; assist with the Division of Student Affairs New Staff Orientation three times a year; coordinate the Graduate Assistant Professional Development Series; participate and assist with the Graduate Student Institutes; assist in the coordination of the GA Case Study competition; coordinate the Campus Life area monthly meetings in partnership with the assigned area.

Student Engagement and Involvement:

Assist with the coordination and implementation of Arkansas Destination, 1st- year transition program during the summer/August; develop a program to submit to the VCSA Executive Advisory Board; assist with the Student Engagement Platform, HogSync; assist with the creation of a student engagement incentive program.

Graduate Assistant Interview Day:

Assist in developing, coordinating a marketing strategy for Graduate Assistant Interview Day; collaborate with directors within the Division of Student Affairs for open positions; coordinate and help obtain available resources for prospective candidates; serve as the main contact for candidates through the Graduate Assistant email account; oversee the Graduate Assistant formal and informal application process; coordinate the GA Day and the on-going year-round process; collaborate with the HIED Program to create a comprehensive GA Interview experience.

Assessment:

Develop and coordinate assessment surveys for Campus Life involvement and engagement; assist the Student Affairs Development Office with scholarship applications through HogSync; assist with projects by doing library-based research, web-based research, and benchmarking.Qualifications:

Salary Information:$1,250 annually plus tuition waiver (fees excluded)
