Overview
Seattle Children's Therapeutics (SCTx) at Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is an exciting new venture aimed at leveraging a biotech industry business model in a non-profit context to bring cutting edge, curative technologies and therapies to defeat pediatric cancer and beyond. Our immunotherapies offer hope to families who have exhausted other treatment options - our work saves lives. This position will oversee the GMP Biologics Manufacturing team as we aim to develop our internal manufacturing capabilities for key starting materials to accelerate our cell therapy manufacturing program, including viral vectors, plasmids, and protein therapeutics.

This role will be accountable for providing leadership and direct management to the manufacturing activities of the GMP biologics manufacturing facility. The Manufacturing Director will collaborate with upper management on gene vector and biologics manufacturing strategy, contributing current knowledge and implementing technical advances required to manage manufacturing and operations of the GMP biologics facility in concert with strategic goals and objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple GMP biologics manufacturing lines, departmental budgets, talent management/succession planning, and engagement and retention strategies for the GMP biologics manufacturing business. You will be a leader at the site and have ultimate responsibility for timely, high-quality execution of manufacturing operations. Responsibility includes delivering on critical project milestones and managing a key functional area that will have a direct impact on the growth and success of Seattle Children's Therapeutics. The role will collaborate with senior management to provide input on strategic direction for the GMP biologics manufacturing facility in alignment with Seattle Children's strategic goals and objectives, including expansion of the facility's product offerings. Establishing and driving a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and alignment between various functions and departments on site will be essential to ensure that major site strategic manufacturing objectives are met.

Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
- 10 years of GMP biologics manufacturing experience plus a Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, bioengineering, biology, biochemistry, or related field.
OR
- 7+ years of GMP biologics manufacturing experience plus a Master's Degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, bioengineering, biology, biochemistry, or related field.
