Department's Website:https://housing.uark.edu/Summary of Job Duties:The Conference Ambassador (CA) is a key member of the University Housing Conference Services team. The CA is responsible for providing the highest possible customer service experience for guests staying on campus as part of a summer camp or conference. Groups include adult/youth conferences, athletic camps, special events, and U of A academic programs. CAs report to the Assistant Director for Conference Services and work collaboratively with all University Housing staff. This is a live-in position and CAs work approximately 20-40 hours per week with night and weekend shifts required. Overtime may be available during select periods of the summer.Qualifications:

Salary Information:$11.00 - $11.50 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a student enrolled at the University of Arkansas for the Spring 2021 semester
- Enrollment is not required for Summer 2021. However, CAs may enroll in three (3) hours during first five weeks and six (6) hours during second five weeks
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above
- Must live in assigned residence hall throughout entire employment period
- Be in good academic and conduct standing with the University and University Housing

Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrollment in Fall 2021 courses is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about the University and University Housing
- Organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding and commitment to displaying advanced customer service skills
- Computer skills to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and various database applications
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to effectively and positively represent the University and University Housing
- Ability to interact with diverse populations
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Dates of Employment:
The start date is May 9, 2021, and the end date will be August 1, 2021. There will be an opportunity for a select group of CAs to work until August 8, 2021 to assist with fall intersession check-ins and duty coverage.

Availability:
Required training dates are May 9-12, 2021. Additionally, the following dates require full staff participation: April 24, 2021 and May 13, 2021 - June 5, 2021. All vacations must be approved by the Assistant Director for Conference Services.
