Responsibilities

Dematic Corp has an immedicate need for a mid-level EHS Specialist 3.  The sucessful candidate will advises and assists managers on EHS matters, including fact/data gathering, problem identification/resolution and offering objective assistance and guidance on EHS matters. Functions as an employee advocate/management partner by establishing and maintaining clear lines of communication with internal customers, maintaining awareness of employee EHS needs/issues and addressing these with the appropriate management. Accountable for addressing employee EHS complaints and ensuring resolution. Designs and implements major EHS initiatives as assigned. Administrative responsibilities: records/file maintenance; report development. 


Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibility consists of consulting the Customer Service function in EHS matters. The Customer Service function includes Resident Service, Field Service, Mods and Upgrades, and Parts and Logistics.  In addition, Customer Service sites Mossville, Griffin, and Memphis also fall under this responsibility.  Communication with Customer Service site/function management on EHS issues will be required as well as reporting to the EHS Manager of Customer Service.  Travel requirements for this position will be up to 50%.

Key Areas of Responsibility:




    • Administer safety training (new and refresher) as necessary

    • Administer equipment training and issue operator permits to those who are competent, as needed

    • Conduct safety audits to identify risk and assist in the closing of corrective actions as needed

    • Consult in EHS matters, including Dematic Risk Score and Gensuite, for all functions within Customer Service

    • Assist on site/function specific EHS procedures (LOTO, Hazcom, PPE, etc.)

    • Assist in the development of EHS communication including, but not limited to, Tool Box Talks, Safety Alerts, Safety Moments, etc.

    • Administer and track Customer Service contractor pre-qualification surveys using platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.




Qualifications

Education:

Typically an Bachelor’s degree preferred. Specialized skill training/certification may be required. 

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and basic knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact. Performs routine work within technical or paraprofessional area. Identifies problems as they occur and suggests appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from others. OSHA 30 Hour training as a minimum.  A candidate for this position should have a level of experience typically seen in a professional with 3-5 years of safety in manufacturing or similar industry.

Direction of Others:

This role does not give direct management of others.  Consultation and communication with all levels at an installation job site required.
