Position Overview

The Innovation Program is a new initiative within Kiewit focused on establishing a System for Innovation including a Strategy, Culture, and Process. This position will report to the Manager of Innovation and play a key role in developing the foundations for our System for Innovation in addition to working with our business units on their Innovation strategy. The incumbent will play a role in leading our business unit Innovation Committees, helping them incubate ideas, provide leadership in Technology Innovation, and assisting teams to accelerate and operationalize solutions.
Additionally, this position will help the Innovation Team build a strategy for an Internal and External Ventures Program. Our Ventures program will move Kiewit into a proactive position in our research into external technology scouting, technology trend scouting, and discovering internal innovation efforts.

    This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.


    Responsibilities



  • Assist in developing and continuously improving our Enterprise System for Innovation

  • Help develop an intake mechanism for sourcing Innovation channels (Intrapreneurs, Corporate Initiatives, Customer Problems) throughout Kiewit

  • Operate within defined process for Innovation and hold others in the program accountable to doing the same

  • Significant contributor to our Ventures Program Strategy and Management

  • Align Ventures Program Strategy to our Strategic Innovation Plan

  • Lead our business unit's Innovation Committees to align an Innovation Strategy to their Business Strategy

  • Lead and facilitate all Innovation Committee meetings

  • Mentor Intrapreneurs by helping establish best practices, providing internal and external examples, and getting hands-on with them in developing their solutions

  • Help manage a portfolio of Innovation initiatives

  • Assist other Innovation Leads and participate in their Innovation steering committee meetings as needed

  • Develop relationships with Kiewit Districts to ensure our Innovation System is responsive to business needs, evangelized, and valued by our business

  • Continuously improve our Innovation processes by researching trends, tools, and techniques

  • Assist in Innovation projects through market research, ideation, solutioning and user-centric validation

  • Drive roadmap definition for assigned Innovation projects

    Qualifications



  • Hands on experience with Product Ownership and or Product Management

  • Experience as a Program Manager

  • Proven ability to build a Program from the ground up

  • Ability to lead, influence, and motivate team members to achieve results

  • Proven ability to bring new products or services into new and established markets

  • Ability to Document and communicate complex concepts effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Experience mentoring team members, bringing them up to speed with team processes, norms, and culture

  • Ability to measure the past and current success of a product or service and develop a continuously evolving plan to maintain success

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • History of working on new teams and ability to define their inputs and outputs to meeting customer needs

  • Ability to work with wide range of personalities and team members

  • Excellent Problem-solving skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent experience

  • Ability to Travel up to 25% of the time
