The Assistant HRBP role at Kiewit will provide you an opportunity to support 300+ people in a strategic HR partner capacity, while participating in a developmental program that takes HR Generalists from other industries and transforms them into construction/engineering HRBPs. Are you ready?

This position will report to a Sr. HR Business Partner and work closely with department leadership teams. Primary responsibility will be to ensure HR execution and performance for the assigned business units. You'll act as a liaison with HR Shared Services to ensure the delivery of support to exceed internal client needs, while leading various projects and initiatives as determined in the annual planning cycle. As an Assistant Human Resources Business Partner, you will need to establish a strong partnership and execute initiatives related to developing and retaining a talented and engaged workforce.

District Overview

HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.

Location

This position will begin based out of Kiewit's Northwest District located in Vancouver, WA / Portland, OR. Kiewit does business across North America, so ability to relocate as a business is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Human Resources Planning and Management

  • Support the development of HR related strategies and ensure implementation and execution

  • Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices, trends and data points to drive enhancements

  • Serve as a change agent by influencing key stakeholders in support of organizational effectiveness
    Workforce Planning and Talent Management

  • Development of succession plans and skills gap analysis, ensuring that they are consistently reviewed and that effective actions are in place

  • Ensure coaching, feedback and performance systems are in place to maximize workforce productivity

  • Lead implementation of programs to drive development, employee engagement and retention
    Program Execution and Employee Support

  • Serve as advisor to leadership teams by providing insights, consultation and support

  • Act as a liaison with HR Shared Services to ensure the delivery of support to exceed internal client needs

  • Provide feedback to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes

    Qualifications



  • Experienced HR professional who can strike a balance between systems thinking, HR program execution and process innovation.

  • 3+ years' experience of progressive HR experience with working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, and/or HR Generalist

  • 8 years of professional experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field

  • Ability to travel overnight throughout the US and Canada up to 25% of the time

  • Able to relocate for future growth opportunities in HR for career trajectory over time strongly preferred.

  • Ability to communicate and influence individuals and groups to gain buy-in and acceptance of new ideas and approaches.

  • Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships.

  • Sound business acumen, strong analytical skills, and high attention to detail.
