Responsibilities

The Immunoserology Lab is looking to hire a Hospital Laboratory Technician III. Major duties include: specimen processing, accessioning, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, troubleshooting specimen/test order problems, filing, and participating in special studies as required by the laboratory and medical staff. Other duties may include assisting with clinical resource leadership/training in specimen processing, monitoring inventories of reagents and supplies used in diagnostic testing, quality control/quality assurance support, computer operation (report printing) and data entry and retrieval. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed. Qualifications

AA Degree or related experience
Experience in assisting with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
Experience in laboratory specimen processing, preferred
Experience in assisting with performing quality control procedures in a clinical lab setting, preferred
Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems, Clinical Lab test names and their abbreviated forms
Demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology to include body functions and their systems.
Knowledge of infection control procedures
Strong organizational, teamwork and time-management skills
