Job Summary

A California licensed technologist who performs safe, diagnostic imaging procedures on all inpatient and outpatient age-specific populations. Diagnostic procedures include, but are not limited to, basic radiographic procedures, portables imaging, operating room, emergency room and fluoroscopy.

Performs various radiographic exams and processes images on various archival systems. Professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS. Participates in performance improvement activities in the department. Demonstrates excellent customer service to patients. Correctly identifies patients for the procedures performed. Follows Infection Control policies, radiation policies and good body mechanics. Maintains appropriate continuing education credits. Complies with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures.

New hires must not perform any radiology procedures until they receive their license (CRT) from the State of California. New hires may begin their orientation to the department, observe procedures and assist during this time period, which is not to exceed 6 months. New hires must receive their California fluoroscopy license within the first 6 months of employment or probationary period.

This position will be filled by a Radiology Technologist or a Senior Radiology Technologist, depending on the qualifications of the selected individual.

Required Qualifications

* Previous experience in healthcare environment required (usually 3-5 years).

* Customer service experience highly preferred

* Solid communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required

* Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA approved school.

* Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required.

* Flexibility in scheduling, ability to work variable shifts, rotate shifts, sites and coverage for weekends and holidays at all UCSF Medical Centers is required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Prefer recent work experience in an acute care setting.

* Prefer BCLS
