JOB SUMMARY

The chief objective of this position:

-

Provides daily internal and/or external courier services. Transports people and a variety of items that may include some or all of the following: medical records, radiology films, campus mail, laboratory specimens, supplies, patient reports, pharmaceuticals, etc. Performs chauffeur services for patients, families, employees, and visitors as assigned. Ensures that pickups and deliveries are made within the specific timeframes, as assigned. Completes required documentation in a timely manner. Provides exceptional customer service, presenting a positive, friendly and professional appearance. If a vehicle is used as part of the courier service, obeys all posted speed limits and traffic laws. Responsible for vehicle safety and maintenance checks; vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior); completion of required mileage, gas, maintenance and/or pickup/delivery logs; and reports maintenance needed in a timely manner.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:

Valid Virginia Driver's License with positive points on DMV record (if performing vehicular courier services).

CPR Preferred.

Experience PREFERRED

One (1) year of previous courier/transportation work experience

Previous experience using a PC for inquiry and accurate data entry

High School Diploma or equivalent
