Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Manager of IT Infrastructure, the Network Architect is responsible for the design, management, monitoring and daily operations of the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Wireless Area Network (WLAN) and Voice over IP (VOIP) including the daily tracking, analyzing, and troubleshooting in a 24x7, mission-critical, high availability, multisite enterprise. This role works closely with the IT Operations team to maintain infrastructure solutions that support virtualized servers (application servers, database servers, active directory, web servers), Storage Area Networks, and load balancers. Disaster recovery, redundancy, capacity planning and performance tuning are key functions of this role.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum: BA in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, using the standard of 2 years of experience equals 1 year of college

Preferred: MA in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or 10 years of relevant experience in healthcare.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Minimum: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) to be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Preferred: One or more of the following. CompTIA Network+. Cisco CCNP, CCIE Data center/Routing & Switching, or CCDE. Extreme ECNA. Juniper JNCIE-ENT

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols (IPv4, ICMP, DNS, SNMP, ARP) and OSI model. Extensive working knowledge of IP networks, routing, layer 2 and layer 3 switching routing protocols (BGP/EIGRP/OSPF/IS-IS/ECMP) and Switching Protocols (STP/VLAN/VPN/MPLS).Network QoS and Security (ACL, Firewalls, QoS). Experience with either design and implementation, or operation of, large-scale enterprise deployments of network security infrastructures using a continuous improvement methodology while enforcing compliance standards. Experience designing and troubleshooting VPNs. Provisioning and maintenance of systems across multiple locations and platforms. Detailed knowledge of internal voice / data wiring * including Cat 5, 5E, 6 and fiber.

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum: 10 years of general system, network, administrator experience and 8 years of dedicated network engineering and administration experience. 8 years of hands on experience creating network functional and technical design documentation. 10 years of supporting Tier 3/2 technicians and end-users. 5 years technical/management leadership experience working on enterprise level network and infrastructure projects or technology assignments
