** This position will be based on a jobsite in North Carolina for the duration of the project

Bachelor degree or equivalent from four-year college; or a minimum of four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will be a qualified scheduler with a minimum of four years experience in industrial construction and will have extensive planning experience in all elements of design and construction.


 


Ideal candidates must possess necessary computer skills, including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications, graphical application software, and scheduling software.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)


Generates the project's master schedule to establish design sequence, procurement, material, and equipment lead times and construction sequence per the contract requirements.  Performs periodic schedule updates with the project team, subcontractors and equipment vendors.


 


Must understand the logical relationships between the various components of complex industrial construction projects.  This person will assist the Design, Project and Site Management team and must be technically capable and experienced in the use of the most recent version(s) of Microsoft Project and Primavera (P6).  Must understand Earned Value Management applications and have the ability to implement utilizing construction data. The candidate will be expected to have experience in preparing cost and resource loaded schedules.


 


 


The candidate will be responsible for providing schedule preparation, assisting the project team develop the initial schedule, on-site progress, review, validation and interpretation during the design and construction of industrial construction projects.


 


Responsible for ensuring that schedules are produced, maintained, updated and issued on a regular basis during the duration of the projects. Must be able to present visual sequencing date in addition to typical schedule updates.


 


Must be able to communicate professionally with the customer, subcontractors, and external organizations, and take direction in the best interest of Gray Construction.


 


Will be responsible for monitoring trends and alerting management as to possible, both positive and negative, effects of those trends. May be required to monitor field progress by physically reviewing on a regular basis as the Project Manager requires. Should have the ability to work safely within an operating construction site. Must be able to produce reports and analysis of impacts and updates.

Normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled.   Overtime may be required.


 


Supervisory Responsibilities


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


 


Other Skills & Abilities


Must possess advanced computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail and scheduling applications.  May require knowledge of applications specific to the department.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Overtime may be required.
