Position Overview
The Product Owner is on the front line when it comes to managing our products. They serve as the key link between our business and the internal and external IT professionals that develop and support our products. With that in mind, the Product Owner is responsible for managing the product backlog to maximize product value. The Product Owner acts as the voice of the customer, representing users, stakeholders and the Product Manager when driving prioritization of the backlog.
For third-party products, the product owner is responsible for user acceptance testing and ensuring we have the right strategy for the product within the Kiewit landscape. They are a primary source of communication and training for their products to help ensure user success. They are also the main communication channel back to the third-party responsible for communicating the needs and requests of Kiewit.

Kiewit Technology Group's (KTG) mission is to deliver project schedule and cost certainty by employing technology designed by and for the construction industry. Our team deploys apps to the field that increase profitability by maximizing the way we use our people and resources in daily operations. KTG uses the Kiewit Management System (KMS), which includes systems and tools that manage every part of Kiewit's business and lifecycle of a project, to improve planning and day-to-day execution in the field by giving our people real-time data to make faster, smarter decisions. Location
This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.
Responsibilities
Address business-related questions and training directly with users regarding Finance business processes with an emphasis on Billings
Provide knowledge transfer and training to the Customer Success Group and to the technical support group
Display first-rate customer service abilities and always be willing to help with a positive attitude
Facilitate change management and partner to gain buy-in of processes from stakeholders and users to create better cohesion and clear communication throughout the organization
Manage ideation process and idea collection portal for multiple products or an entire product category
Define product roadmaps
Work with the Product Manager, Customer Success Group, Stakeholders, and Business Analysts to translate product ideas into requirements and prioritize features and user stories
Define the vision, direction, and opportunities for product growth and enhancements
Manage backlog for multiple products including the feature and user story refinement process, including creation of user stories, UI prototypes, and sprint acceptance criteria
Provide final approvals on functional and UI designs
Perform/coordinate acceptance testing of delivered solutions to ensure quality of data and functionality
Maintain an adequate amount of defined work in the backlog to ensure a steady workload in each sprint for custom products
Evaluate product progression at the end of every iteration and demonstrate completed work
Work with the Product Manager to develop a long-term strategy for custom solutions and third-party products, inclusive of cost, technology, and the full lifecycle roadmap
Develop and execute a decommissioning strategy for products that have become a legacy solution or are no longer enterprise supported
Define and measure product or enhancement value (ROI, number of users, touches, etc.) to make wise product decisions on behalf of Kiewit
Maintain knowledge and awareness of all third-party product functionality supported by the respective product area
Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party software product owners or functional super users
Leverage relationships to support the business as needs arise
Maintain awareness of how the business utilizes supported third-party applications and the underlying business problems
Track and communicate status of defects found during testing cycles as well as production issues
Communicate and maintain product vision with all stakeholders
Participate in product and project meetings, serving as the voice of stakeholders and users
Communicate the business value of features and deliverables to the team & work cross functionally with other KTG teams.
Stay up to date on Product Owner best practices through training and Community of Practice involvement
Lead/oversee the creation of end-user training material and marketing communications for the product including driving use of Kiewit Launchpad by ensuring products are represented, well-communicated, and up to date
Serve as a product spokesperson at meetings and events involving internal company stakeholders
Qualifications
3-5 years of product owner experience
Enterprise product owner (or equivalent) with finance and/or billings experience
Experience in a technology-related product management or business role
Experience with MS Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), ServiceNow, and portfolio and project management (PPM) tools a plus
Experience with agile software development practices a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and time-management skills
Ability to recognize, assess, and mitigate risks to the committed deliverables and timelines
Ability to synthesize and articulate complex concepts targeted at multiple audiences
Product Owner or Scrum Master certification(s) strongly preferred
Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
Bonus Points:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Finance preferred
Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner in a technology setting
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Experience with agile software development practices
Experience with SAP or similar ERP software
