Summary

 

This position will lead the development and execution of manufacturing process improvement projects, including lean manufacturing implementation and capital improvement projects for all Leviat manufacturing locations, located in the states of TX, PA, OR, and IA.  These projects will improve productivity, quality, manufactured cost and delivery.  The Director of Continuous Improvement should be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a decentralized and matrixed team environment.   This position will work closely with plant management teams to implement, track and manage change initiatives.  The role can be based out of Converse or Ft. Worth, TX plants.  The majority of the travel will be between these 2 facilities.    

 

Job Responsibilities

 


  • Develop, evaluate and improve production methods utilizing lean tools, knowledge of product design, materials and parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities, process methods, and quality control standards to reduced manufactured cost. 

  • Serves as the thought leader in the CI culture change, driving the transition and complete adaptation across the organization and at each site.

  • Help identify opportunities for significant improvement by working with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify improvement initiatives and/or capital investment to reduce manufactured costs while driving profitability and competitive advantage.

  • Oversee and lead plant improvement workshops to identify, diagnose and address bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production processes

  • Provide follow-up and tracking to ensure identified improvement opportunities are completed as planned and teams are accountable to the process

  • Undertakes regular and frequent financial reporting to continuously ensure results are meeting or exceeding commitments on all initiatives/projects.

  • Proposes and leads Continuous Improvement projects in the plant to achieve expected benefits and participates in and coordinates the development of CI project plans including assigning roles and responsibilities.

  • Serve as change agent working collaboratively within and across departments, functions and locations to help implement a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Identify, document and share best practices within broader Leviat global team

Minimum Qualifications

 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related degree or the equivalent in relevant experience

  • 10+ years of operations management experience applying lean manufacturing methodologies to support continuous production operations

  • Drives for results with a bias to action and pragmatic approach to identifying/executing cost reduction initiatives and driving continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and manage multiple improvement projects at multiple sites simultaneously

  • Competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experience with ERP/MRP systems and project management tools

  • Ability to travel 75%
