What you will do
Seeking a development engineer with technical abilities in the area of Automation Systems and protocol integration with 2+ years if experience. This position requires the ability to work under minimal direction in collaboration with a team of engineers to design, develop and implement robust solutions that meet defined system requirements.
How you will do it
Responsible for the investigation, development and implementation of non-standard hardware configuration, software solutions, protocol integration and database integration projects while exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.
Provide pre-sales technical support of department solutions and capabilities.
Able to effectively team with integration department as well as internal and external customers.
Investigation of effective and competitive solutions along with proposal development outlining chosen solutions, responsibilities, and costs involved.
Manages and schedules all aspects of assigned workload. Prioritizes work to meet the goals of the customer along with department goals. Provides cost and timeframe estimates for evaluation.
Collaborates with the department to maintain a high level of engineering standards ensuring maximum reuse of designs and programs.
Works with field installation teams to insure timely delivery of developed solutions in order to maximize successful execution.
Schedule and perform project implementations of developed solutions. Available for travel as needed (Approximately 25%).
Development of accurate and concise documentation with the objective to have complete information on file and in the customers' hands that fully explains the solution, how it works, how it’s used and allows for reconstruction of the developed solution in the event of a system failure.
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned and other duties listed in quarterly and annual goal setting
What we look for
Required:
BS/MS Comp Science or Engineering degree (equivalent work experience considered)
Work experience: 2+ years of Application Engineering, Computer Networking, Project Management, including development, testing, deployment, fault diagnostics and maintenance of applications.
Preferred:
Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
Prior experience with Building Automation Systems as well as communications protocols such as Modbus, OPC, SNMP and BACnet is helpful.
