Job Description:

Joining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and

decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.

Eligibility :

Must be concurrently enrolled andreturning to an academic program in the fall in an accredited degree-seekingprogram.

Primary Function of Position:

Exploringnew technologies and approaches, particularly AI and deep leaning inspiredtechniques, for alignment of color stereo vision systems and implement thesolution to improve current production systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Survey and exploring new technologies and approaches for alignmentof color stereo camera systems or other similar machinal-optical systems,particularly, AI and deep learning related technologies.


• Implementing the selected approach for fast-automated alignmentcolor stereo camera system


• Document and report the technology and development andimplementation details

Skills, Experience,Education, & Training:

• Currentenrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, ComputerScience, Computer Vision, or Robotics degree-seeking program at the Master's orDoctorate Level


• Hands on experiences on at least one programming languagessuch as C#, Python, or Matlab


• Good understand of software engineering


• Basic understanding of stereo computer vision systems


• Basic understanding of software development process


• Basicunderstanding of algorithm development

• Good knowledge on current trends of deep learning and AI oncomputer vision


• Improved programming skills


• Good understanding of high performance color stereo visionsystems


• Experiences to work with a team in a collaborative workingenvironment

Commitment: Must be available to work full-time hours,M-F for 10-12 weeks beginning Summer of 2021.
