The Pharmacy Integrated Medical Project Manager will lead cross functional teams to deliver strategic pharmacy initiatives align to decommissioning and sunset activities in support of our transition out services with legacy vendors through the deployment of people, process and technology.  The ideal candidate will have experience leading complex projects involving an array of stakeholder groups including: external vendor partners, internal business units, IT delivery teams, and other matrix partners.  Vendor management experience is essential as this role will be directly accountable for overseeing a number of external vendor delivery teams. The role will also be accountable to support technology supported reporting and analytics, operational playbooks with internal and external stakeholders as well as end to end process mapping. This position could also support intake processes, service excellence, as well as Service Level Agreements and Service Level Objectives with our supplier arrangements and lead additional strategic project initiatives.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

The projects management components you will be managing may follow either waterfall or agile delivery methodologies (depending on the vendor relationships involved).  Candidates must have experience working with both methodologies and must have completed all agile courses and certifications currently required by Cigna.  In some instances, you may be asked to elicit and document requirements for the project engagements.  This may take the form of epics, features and user stories for agile projects or business/functional requirements for waterfall projects.  Playbooks and templates have been established to support these processes, however candidates are expected to have adequate requirements gathering experience to be able to execute on these processes.  Regardless of methodology, the candidate is expected to collaborate with QA partners to confirm that all testing deliverables provide comprehensive coverage to validate the scope of project delivery.

The role will have a comprehensive understanding of all functional categories in order to drive coordinated efforts for sales, product, network, clinical, finance, operational and information technology services. 

The Project Manager will have a key roles to coordinate with health plan and health service delivery teams to support the migrated/re-implemented clients on ESI platforms and ensure all legacy supplier capabilities are met in support of the migration activities. You will also be the go-to for coordinating, managing and troubleshooting between our supplier engagements and our business and IT delivery partner initiatives.

The Project Manager will be accountable for coordination and tracking of outcomes associated with Cigna legacy suppliers, decommissioning existing functionality tied to contractual obligations and run out strategies. This will be done in coordination with our Operational and IT partners and delivery teams in support of the migration / re-implementation strategy. The role will manage the support and tasks required to complete the transition out of services currently being performed by Cigna legacy suppliers into 2022 and possibly beyond.  The efforts are focused on fulfilling contractual transition-out requirements while also ensuring successful completion of the implementation of Express Scripts and affiliate services. Establishing and managing technology based reporting and analytics processes is a key component support of transition, client, legal, compliance, and service level activities.

In order to be considered, you must be highly motivated, driven to succeed, have proven IT leadership skills and have demonstrated expertise in managing large scale IT application delivery in a matrixed environment. You are an accomplished Project Manager who can motivate change as well as a strategic thinker who understands the big picture. 

The successful Project Manager will:


  • Be accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative with vendor engagement

  • Manage and drive work across vendors and/or multiple internal areas

  • Ensure Waterfall/Agile methodologies meet up for testing, readiness and implementation

  • Ensure vendor contractual obligations are met for project delivery

  • Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, & reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan

  • Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters

  • Technically savvy and able to get to detail levels and drive the project(s)

  • Build an environment of trust and open information. Sharing lessons learned, perceptions and best practices openly with the teams

  • See how things can be done rather than why they can’t be done

  • Communicate clearly with vendor teams in multiple diverse locations, ensuring that strategic and tactical deliverables are understood

  • Regularly conduct postmortems on capability delivery and ensure that the team learns from mistakes as well as victories

  • Always look for improving the way we get things done

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Vendor Management background is a plus

  • 8 to 10 years of technology project management experience is required

  • Exemplary core project management skills including multiple aspects of the PMBOK and the Scaled Agile Framework

  • Well-honed consulting skills enabling the individual to work with others to elicit information, to think objectively and analytically and to influence outcomes positively

  • Fact-based problem solver with the ability to evaluate alternative courses of action and make sound management decisions

  • Experience with cross-functional initiatives, with a high degree of complexity

  • Demonstrates ability to lead, influence and problem-solve across various Cigna businesses

  • Highly Collaborative; experience leading cross functional teams to deliver a defined set of outcomes and objectives. Partners well with others; motivates teams to move things forward and overcome obstacles when needed

  • Ability to develop trusting working partnership’s with internal and external business and technology partners

  • Experienced in  anticipating, understanding and meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong project management skills experienced in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies  

  • Ability to set a direction and motivate a team to delivery dates and budget

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity

  • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative group

  • Proven ability to present and communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally

  • Scaled Agile Certification and Agile project delivery experience is required

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
