You independently operate and maintain at least one process, equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.

How you will contribute

You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

Duties and responsibilities may vary depending on business needs and may include:


  • Operates, cleans and make necessary adjustments to equipment used in the manufacture of gum, gum base and sweeteners

  • Moves material, product and supplies to and from designated areas

  • Assists in maintaining warehouse inventories of finished goods, supplies and raw materials

  • Operates and controls the palletizers to insure an orderly and constant flow of production

  • Operates equipment including complex processing equipment, automatic feed system, hand truck, forklift truck and palletizer

  • Inspects product, material and flow of products to maintain proper production standards

  • Calculates and coordinates production requirements for area

  • Records production data and performs other clerical duties

  • Adds ingredients and mixes product according to batch sheets

  • Maintains proper temperatures, batch identity, times, etc. of product and equipment

  • Takes quality checks periodically

  • Coordinates and assists on machine clean-out and changeovers

  • Makes adjustments and minor repairs, and maintains critical tolerances on processing equipment

  • Programs temporary pallet patterns and assigns patterns to stations

  • Fills out lot control tickets for pallets of product and verifies count

  • Fills out daily inventory work sheets on production and keeps track of all code dates and production changes

  • Hand-stacks cases from conveyor line onto pallets and removes full pallets from palletizer

  • Frequent handling of heavy weights and above average effort

  • More than average care required to prevent moderate damage or loss to material and product
