Job Description
OBJECTIVES: The responsibilities of Associate Program Manager in the Oncology Therapeutic Area Unit (OTAU) Global Program Management group include:
Provides project management skills to global, cross-functional teams (GPTs (Global Program Teams)) to realize successful delivery of early stage programs Assist in the MRP (mid-range plan, budget and resources management, visualization of management data, and etc.) Participates in identifying and driving innovative process improvements to improve operational effectiveness of OTAU GPM
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
As an associate project manager
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders.
Capture meeting outcomes and determine next steps in terms of the cross-functional communication and coordination of action items.
Manage the logistics of the GPT, plan appropriate meeting schedules and ensure communication of all meeting plans.
Assist in the development of comprehensive project plans to be shared with all project key stakeholders.
Assist in the monitoring and management of the program progress, schedules and resources (budget and FTE).
Assist in the identification of risks / issues and planning of solutions / mitigations to minimize project risks.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Assist in the development of MRP (Medium Range Planning) with R&D finance, and related functions.
Contribute to identifying the business requirement of visualization of the management information (cost, resource allocation, project plan, etc.) and establishing the platform, leveraging existing R&D infra structure (TEMPO, TM1, InterACT, MDM, Data Lake, etc.)
Proactively identify the opportunities for the organizational improvement and/or obstacles, and achieve resolutions or plans contingencies. Take on strategic initiatives to improve organizational capabilities as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree science or business-related field
Advanced degree in science or business is preferred
Experience and Capabilities:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in life sciences industry including collaboration activities between drug development related functions.
Project management skills are required.
Thorough understanding of R&D roles and responsibilities (department functions, interrelationships, contribution to the development process, etc.)
Ability of strategic thinking; ability to approach specific issues/problems with understanding of the larger context
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, present key information objectively, and organize information in a logical manner
Ability to influence stakeholders from many technical disciplines and at many levels
Ability to influence in a matrix organization
Ability of problem-solving ability; ability to predict issues and identify solutions
Excellent organizational skills: Proactive, management of multiple tasks of varied complexity simultaneously
Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, SharePoint, and Tableau
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification with PMI is desired
Flexibility to attend early meeting or late meetings due to time zone differences
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires approximately 10-15 % travel, which may include overnight and international travel to attend meetings, other Takeda sites, and another related travel.
