Position Description: The Transporter is responsible for transporting patients and equipment.
* Job tasks and responsibilities include:
* Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas as requested.
* Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
* Greet and offer assistance to customers throughout the hospital.
* Collect and deliver specimens, orders, requisitions and equipment to appropriate destinations.
* Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
* Orients and mentors new staff members
QUALIFICATIONS
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
* High School Graduate/GED is preferred.
* Ability to read, write and understand written and oral instructions.
EXPERIENCE:
* 6 months of related experience is preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
* Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, basic computer usage.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
* BLS through American Heart Association is required at hire, and maintained every 2 years.
