Summary of Position
To support the preventative maintenance and repairing of industrial equipment and special projects as required of the manufacturing and support groups. Perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas, including troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, and maintaining equipment, components, devices, or systems.
Essential Functions
- Be self-motivated and able to work as a member of a team when needed.
- Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to safety guidelines and SOP's.
- Follow and promote on-the-job safety expectations, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following cGMP rules and guidelines in all designated areas.
- Maintain proper housekeeping expectations.
- Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
- Perform all assigned PM's and work orders on time and make preventative maintenance checks and inspections as required.
- Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of electrical equipment, circuits and systems including emergency lighting and generator systems.
- Must have the ability to install new electrical circuits and systems up to and including 480-volt 3 phase.
- Respond to production-down issues in a manner that minimizes downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical system in an industrial environment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and installation of cabling for phone/data systems.
- Installation of conduit and raceways.
- Determines best course of action to make repairs.
- Sets and/or adjusts priorities to ensure safety and reliability of electrical distribution systems or individual circuits and devices.
- Test equipment after repairs and leave equipment and area in a clean, safe condition.
- Operate related equipment, conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
- Use predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to inspect or test specific equipment or product; making modifications and adjustments as necessary.
Requirements
- Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical systems or related field required.
- 5-7 years of maintenance experience required, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Journeyman level electrician, licensed electrician or equivalent background in high voltage electric.
- Experience operating and maintaining 480-volt 3 phase motor control centers, distribution centers, UPS systems, motors, transformers, PA systems, and HVAC controls.
- Must have experience with the following:
- Industrial/commercial electricity
- Industrial Electrical Controls
- Installation of temporary power systems
- Building Management Systems
- Strong Troubleshooting Skills
- The following experience is preferred:
- Pipefitting
- WFI or USP water systems
- Clean steam generator
- Boiler maintenance and operation
- Air compressors and vacuum systems
- Chilled water system maintenance and operation
- Root Cause Analysis
Working Conditions
- Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials in accordance with federal and site regulations, requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
- Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, flexible to work weekends, off-shifts and overtime as necessary.
- Must be able to support our facilities team based \\"on-call\\" program.
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day while performing duties, responsibilities also include walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, lifting, crouching, bending, pulling, pushing, twisting the upper body and climbing stairs without accommodation.
- Must be able to work in temperatures of 90+ degrees during a scheduled workday (during seasonal changes in weather), and, at times, lifting weights of 50 to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts hazards, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
- Exposure to high noise levels.
- Must be willing to wear a variety of personal protective equipment.
- Close attention to detail required, must possess good hand-eye coordination.
