Main Objective:

This role coordinates the activities of Boxing, Secondary Packaging and/or Sutures department personnel.  Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, material issuance, process accuracy, training, and quality inspection.    

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for DHR and ERP accuracy and completion

  • Monitors flow of work through assigned area and assigns resources to ensure schedule completion

  • Enters count reconciliation, scrap, work order status updates, labor, and exceptions

  • Performs work order troubleshooting during processing and closure process in ERP for traceability

  • Controls and maintains accuracy of secured Kanban/Replenishment inventory and material issuance against specific work orders

  • Trains employees on new products, product line layouts, work instructions, packaging instructions, and procedures

  • Performs and documents inspections as required

  • Communicates issues to management that could result in process delays, safety issues, or other potential loss to the company or its associates

  • Initiates Maintenance work order tickets to resolve any equipment issues

  • Provides back up supervision for Boxing and/or Secondary Packaging department and prepares reports for management

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college desirable.

  • At least 2 years of manufacturing/distribution experience, or, a combination of 1 years manufacturing/distribution experience and a 4-year college degree

  • Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is desirable

  • Experience with ERP systems is desirable (Oracle, SAP, etc.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:


  • The ability to prioritize, work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and work under time constraints

  • Analytical and reasoning abilities to complete count reconciliations and work order troubleshooting during closure process

  • Able to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, using spoken and written English

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form

  • Ability to accurately assess/review associate performance and shift performance

  • Proficiency with personal computers (MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point) is required

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

The technology and the frequency of the technology required to perform this job are as follows; the operation of thermal transfer, thermal direct and/or laser printers, Bosch-Doboy sealers, burst test equipment, weighing scales, label dispenser machines, pallet jacks, heat shrink machines and tappi charts. Proficient operation/utilization of document scanners, badge scanners, wedge bar code scanners, mobile bar code scanners, and touch screen PC monitors is also required.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.

 

Physical Demands:

Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

 

 

 

Vision Requirements:

Visual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively. 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
