Basic Qualifications


  • HS Diploma / GED

  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years. 

  • This position may have the opportunity to join the Emergency Response Team (ERT) for the plant site. This will require passing the ERT physical medical evaluation. This position would require you respond to all emergency on the plant site while you are on site.

  • Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation and physical medical evaluation

  • Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including Safety Glasses, Steel Toed shoes, hearing protection, respirator (i.e. Bullard Hood, Dust Mask, and PAPR)

  • Basic computer skills, good documentation skills, and goo teamwork and interpersonal interaction skills

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.  Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Responsibilities:

The process operator will be responsible for performing all tasks and activities associated with the assigned area. Process operator will be required to demonstrate a high level of initiative and ownership. Departmental goals include meeting quality, quantity and cost targets while maintaining safety, cGMP's, ISO 9000 certification standards, and environmental compliance. 

Key Objectives/Deliverables:


  • Assures that production operations are performed according to cGMP and ISO 9000 standards. 

  • Follows proper documentation and verification guidelines as they apply to all processing document; e.g., batch production records, SOP's, equipment, and sample submission.

  • Follows all departmental safety policies and procedures. 

  • Suggests and implements departmental safety improvements while incorporating safety into daily activities.

  • Recognizes and communicates process improvements and problems to team members (peers, supervision, and technical support personnel).

  • Participates in departmental quality initiatives.

  • Adheres to GMP's in equipment and area cleaning as well as performs general housekeeping tasks. 

  • Operators are expected to recognize problem situations, troubleshoot, and determine root causes using data.

Operators are expected to operate various types of large-scale processing equipment which could include but not limited to, tray dryers, drum filter, baghouses, mills, baggers, pneumatic material transfers and fork lifts. You may also be expected to understand and operate processes that involve azeotropic column distillation, evaporator concentrating/recovery of monensin and narasin intermediates. Some job responsibility requires routine lifting of 60-pound bags, rebuild air filter housings, and tank probing (pH and DO2). Some areas operators are expected to receive material, sample and label material, load/unload material from various vehicles, which could include (dry bulk, liquid semi-trailers, railcars, etc.), moving material around using various vehicles and fork lifts.

Some work will include manual labor some of which will be required to be performed in outdoors elements. 

    Additional Skills/Preferences


    • Must be able to work a Day or Night 12 hour rotating schedule

    • A shift premium is applied to individuals working the shift above

    • Overtime, weekends, and holidays required as dictated by the schedule
